A Christmas Carol
The Christmas Carol really taught me that we are all people and human at the end so why do we mistreat one another? It really blew my mind how they dramatically taught me to just treat people the way you want to be treated. This quote where One of the ghosts are talking about the less fortunate really hit me because he used Scrooge’s words against him and Scrooge realized he was wrong. “If they would rather die, . . . they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.”― Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol
This really made me really think about the less fortunate and what they are going through. It inspired me to go help the poor.
Research
The problem in San Diego is the amount of homeless. 8,742 homeless people were counted in San Diego County in January, 2015. (RTFHSD 2015)
United Way SD (UWSD) believes, “The answer is one simple notion - housing first. If we start by giving the chronically homeless people a place to call home, then we can create structure to offer support...”
Although we can’t help each and every one of them off of the streets we can provide them with the essentials to get them through the day. We feel that they are on their feet all day usually barefoot or with bad quality shoes so we'd like to give them something we care about a lot which is shoes.
Method
How are we Executing?
The four of us are going to donate a pair of our own shoes to the San Diego rescue mission and if that goes smooth then we are going to ask students and staff in our school to donate. Then the last step is to get donations from our families. Then over break we donate them.
We need:
Transportation
Ourselves
Shoes
Bags
and most importantly determination!
RESULTS
DISCUSSION
We were able to get some shoes in

RESULTS
- Our goal was to bring shoe donations to school before break started
- We lost the shoes that we were donating
- We collected shoes from our family and friends before break and we wanted to donate them over break but out collected shoes went missing in school.
- We plan on rescheduling and being more organized this time.
DISCUSSION
We were able to get some shoes in
- Next time, we need to be more organized with our planning
- We need to really be careful with our timing
- To check in with each other
